Procrastinatingmaxxing brought me here: based on a graph on the ue discord server I scraped the transcripts of all of the FOMC meetings and searched them for [laughter].
On the theory that longer documents have more laughs by virtue of length, the following divides the # of laughs by the length in charecters of the document. An imperfect measure to be sure, but also an easy one.
